Specialist In Vintage Curation

Do you have an expert eye for vintage clothing and love discovering hidden gems? Are you the person to go to for identifying designer labels, fashion trends, and authentic vintage pieces? If so, we want you to join our team as a Specialist In Vintage Curation!

In this hands-on role, you will work behind the scenes in our thrift store, ensuring unique pieces are selected, competitively priced, and ready for sale. You will also train and guide other team members to recognize antique treasures and set them aside for your expert evaluation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Select vintage finds: Sort incoming inventory to identify vintage and retro clothing, accessories, shoes, and textiles.
  • Set pricing standards: Research, evaluate, and set competitive prices based on condition, desirability, era, brand, and market demand.
  • Train your team: Educate and equip team members to recognize and reserve potential vintage pieces for your evaluation.
  • Authenticate and assess: Distinguish between truly vintage, authentic brands, reproductions, and modern pieces with vintage styling.
  • Stay ahead of trends: Keep up with coveted brands, popular eras, and retro fashion movements to ensure our selections meet customer demand.
  • Manage inventory: Maintain an organized system to track and document vintage pieces, ensuring precise inventory management and efficient workflow.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with the retail team to maintain an exciting and well-curated vintage collection.
  • Promote sustainable fashion: Support our mission of sustainable fashion by reusing and selecting quality vintage finds.
Requirements
  • Deep knowledge of vintage fashion, styles, fabrics, and designer labels.
  • Proven experience in sourcing, authenticating, and pricing vintage clothing.
  • Strong research skills to verify authenticity, value, and historical significance.
  • Ability to spot trends and assess market demand for different vintage styles.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with a passion for sustainability and fashion history.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to train teams in other locations.
  • Basic proficiency in photography and social media is a plus.
  • No personal resale business (this is a conflict of interest).
