Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant will perform and manage the daily accounting processes that support the month-end close, ensuring the integrity of financial data and adherence to generally accepted accounting principles. Success in this role depends on strong financial systems and application skills, solid analytical abilities, effective communication, the ability to prioritize workload, and a willingness to take initiative.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the monthly, quarterly, and year financial close cycle, including preparing various journal entries
  • Managing monthly financial reporting including balance sheet analytics, cashflow statement, capital expenditures
  • Preparing, overseeing and reconciling various balance sheet reconciliations within Blackline system in accordance with company policy and SOX compliance
  • Completing monthly support for Deferred Sales, Rebate accrual, Intangible assets, Prepaid expenses, and Other Liabilities.
  • Budget to Actual Analysis of SG&A spend
  • Assisting in preparing Internal and external auditor requests throughout the year
  • Ensuring company compliance with Sales & Use and property tax requirements
  • Supporting various accounting projects to help optimize process efficiencies
  • Performing ad hoc analysis and projects as requested

Qualifications (must have):

  • BS in Accounting
  • 4-5 years of experience in Accounting field
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvements, be a self-starter, and effectively interact and communicate across multiple functions within the organization.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong communication (oral and written) and relationship building skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office products

Qualifications (beneficial):

  • Experience in manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience with JD Edwards software system a plus
