Senior Tax Accountant

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation of multi-state tax filings, including consolidated and combined returns
  • Analyze and validate state apportionment data received from various business units
  • Maintain and update nexus tracking to ensure proper state registrations, deregistrations, and compliance positions
  • Coordinate with Treasury on timely processing of state tax payments
  • Assist with federal tax return preparation, including entity-level and consolidated filings
  • Prepare and review Schedule M-3 adjustments and related supporting documentation
  • Develop pro forma federal returns (Forms 1120) for individual entities and sub-groups
  • Maintain tax compliance systems (OneSource or similar), including managing filing calendars and deadlines
  • Calculate and review quarterly state estimated payments and extension filings
  • Handle annual state reporting requirements, including CAT filings (e.g., Ohio, Oregon)
  • Contribute to quarterly and annual tax provision calculations at both federal and state levels
  • Respond to tax authority notices and support audit processes across jurisdictions

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in corporate tax, preferably within a multi-state environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA or advanced degree is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with federal and/or state income tax compliance
  • Strong Excel capabilities and overall proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
  • Highly detail-oriented with solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communicator who can collaborate across teams while also working independently
