Student Government & Finance Coordinator
This position will work directly with our Student Association (SA) to help with planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating a range of programs and services for the benefit of the student body. Responsibilities are expected to include providing direction and leadership in budget development, expenditure protocols, and finance policy enforcement; guiding the creation of new documents and assuring compliance with campus policies; and challenging and supporting student leaders in the execution of their roles and enforcing the guidelines of their governing bylaws and policies. The ideal candidate will be able to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with a variety of campus stakeholders, including effectively serving as the primary point of contact between the Student Association and their fiscal agent, College Auxiliary Services (CAS). The review of all club and organization contracts with outside vendors to mitigate risks, working as an advisor in a variety of capacities to student groups, as well as assisting with election processes and leadership training is also expected. The Enrollment and Student Success division supports a student's entire collegiate experience from the point of admission through to graduation. We partner with students, faculty and staff to provide a network of opportunities and services that lead to student success. Collectively, the division of Enrollment and Student Success positively influences the health, safety and well-being of the student body. The Student Engagement and Leadership office works to offer opportunities and programs for all students to be engaged in campus life in a variety of ways. As an institution that delivers challenging and high-quality experiences to a diverse group of learners, the successful candidate must demonstrate an understanding of, and sensitivity to, diversity, inclusion, and equity-minded policies, programs, and practices.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree at the time of appointment. Minimum six months of experience working in a college environment. Experience with clubs and organizations and or student government. Experience with budget management. Experience working with diverse student populations. Willingness and ability to work some evenings and weekends. A demonstrated ability to work effectively and collegially with faculty, staff and administrators.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree. Experience with supervision and conflict management. Strong decision making and communication skills. Experience advising student government or a club or organization at the collegiate level. Ability to develop relationships with students and work within a shared decision-making model.
Salary (Applicant View) - $51,261 minimum, plus excellent benefits.
