Sub Bus Driver(s)

Position Summary:

We are seeking reliable and safety-focused Substitute Bus Drivers to transport students safely to and from

school and school-related activities. Substitute drivers will fill in as needed and must be flexible with

scheduling.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a school bus along assigned routes.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain order and discipline on the bus.
• Follow all traffic laws and district transportation policies.
• Report any accidents, incidents, or mechanical issues promptly.
• Complete required reports and documentation accurately.

Qualifications:

• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Chauffeurs license.
• Clean driving record, valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
• Meet the state physical examination requirements.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage student behavior effectively.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Attained the age of 21 years' old.
• Must demonstrate patience and compassion for students.
• Demonstrate the ability to work with others in a positive, productive way.
• Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and the community
• while projecting a positive image that enhances the school district.
• Demonstrate the ability to keep confidentiality in regards to the Family Privacy Act.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit for extended periods.
• Ability to assist students on and off the bus when necessary.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

Schedule:

• On-call/as-needed basis.
• Morning and afternoon route availability required.
