New driver training schedule and procedure. Complete job application and interview. Forms in unit office or transportation office. Finger print at a state authorized facility. Call 1-800-377-2080 to schedule fingerprint appointments. Give the following number to the fingerprint facility ORI # SB1020006 (Employer Identifier #). Must take written test for CDL driver's license in the following order: Sections 1, 5, 4, 10, 12, 13, 14 (Introduction to Illinois CDL, Air Brake Test, Transporting Passengers Test, School Bus Endorsement Test, Pre-Trip Vehicle Inspection Test, Basic Vehicle Control Skills Test, Drive/Road Testing) at a Secretary of State facility. Take letter of intent for employment from unit office or director of transportation office. And birth certificate. Declare EI when asked about medical certification. Bus driver's physical, drug & alcohol test/TB test performed by an authorized IDOT physician (at the employer's discretion) OSF St. James Hospital, Pontiac, ILL. Must take the eight hour initial training class. Obtain class schedule from transportation director. Perform two week, 14 day behind the wheel driver training program. Complete behind the wheel driving test given at a Secretary of State facility in Peoria or Princeton.
