Substitute Custodian

Directly responsible to the Supervisor or Lead Custodian and through him/her to the District Facilities Manager and the Business Administrator. The Substitute Custodian will provide students with a safe, clean environment for education.

Performance of Duties:

• Keep building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways and play areas neat and clean at all times.
• Sweep classrooms daily and dust furniture.
• Clean corridors after school each day and during the day when their condition requires it.
• Scrub and disinfect toilet floors daily, and clean all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily.
• Keep the grounds free from rubbish.
• To shovel, plow, and/or sand walks, driveways, parking areas and steps as appropriate.
• Check regularly to insure that all exit doors are open and all panic bolts are working properly during the hours of building occupancy.
• Maintain the school grounds in a safe and attractive condition.
• Keep all floors in a clean and attractive condition and in a good state of preservation.
• Clean all chalkboards.
• Move furniture or equipment within buildings as required for various activities and as directed by the principal.
• To comply with local laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of trash, rubbish, and waste.
• Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications: Will require a criminal history background check and physical.

Rate: $15.13 per hour
