Inventory Control & Quality Supervisor
The Inventory Control & Quality Supervisor is responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy and quality execution across assigned warehouse locations. This role provides hands-on leadership to Inventory Control teams, drives compliance with inventory and quality standards, and partners cross-functionally to reduce shrink, damages, and customer credits. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, collaboration, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee cycle counts, variance research, reconciliations, and investigations to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Monitor shrink, bin integrity, and inventory compliance metrics; drive corrective actions to prevent repeat issues.
- Track and communicate site-level inventory performance and trends.
- Oversee outbound quality execution, including damage reduction, pallet quality, and adherence to handling standards.
- Ensure proper documentation, disposition, and traceability of damaged, expired, recalled, or non-sellable product.
- Support resolution of customer credits, returns, quality holds, and vendor-related quality issues.
- Supervise, coach, and develop Inventory Control Associates and site IC Leads.
- Train teams on inventory and quality SOPs, reinforcing accuracy, documentation, and accountability.
- Partner with Operations leadership to promote shared ownership of inventory and quality results.
- Conduct audits to ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Identify trends and root causes related to discrepancies, damages, or quality defects.
- Recommend and support process improvements and regional initiatives focused on accuracy, shrink, and damage reduction.
- Serve as a key contact for inventory and quality-related questions and escalations.
- Partner with Operations, Transportation, Customer Care, Category, and Purchasing teams to resolve issues and drive improvements.
- Communicate proactively regarding shortages, damages, infestations, and corrective actions.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
- 3–5 years of inventory control, quality, or warehouse operations experience, including leadership or lead-level responsibility.
- Proven experience with inventory accuracy, damage reduction, and quality handling practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office; WMS experience (A+/AS400 or similar) preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to travel 50–75% between assigned facilities and work a flexible schedule.
- Ability to work in warehouse environments, including prolonged standing/walking and lifting up to 50 lbs.
