Job Title: Supply Management Specialist

Job Description:

  • You will act as the primary liaison for raw casting movements between the Foundry and Drivetrain Operations and external machined casting suppliers.
  • Your role will involve managing daily inventory reports sent to external suppliers, creating demand forecasts, and preparing past due order reports for key external Foundry operations.
  • This position requires active engagement with both internal and external stakeholders.


Major Duties:

  • Execute, in a supply chain of low complexity, planning activities within a defined framework/system that mainly affect own organization/unit.
  • Carry out a range of supplier management activities either to support others or to fulfill the requirements of the role.
  • Collate and analyse data using preset tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently.
  • Find the most effective ways to respond to routine functional inquiries. Involves following procedures and precedents.
  • Conduct complex analyses, quality tests, and inspections that require a high level of independent judgment.
  • Contribute to reviewing existing operations in own area of work and support in generating new ideas to assist in identifying continuous improvements.
  • Develop knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct to ensure own work adheres to those standards.
  • Obtain authorization from a supervisor or manager for any exceptions from mandatory procedure.
  • Resolve complex queries from internal or external customers or suppliers by providing information on policies and/or procedures, referring the most complex issues to others.
  • Produce, update, and provide best practice support on complex Microsoft documents, databases, and other departmental systems, advising colleagues as needed and using expertise to help improve processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the movement of raw castings and serve as a liaison with external suppliers.
  • Analyze daily inventory reports and provide insights to suppliers.
  • Develop demand forecasts and overdue order reports.
  • Collaborate with machined casting suppliers and other commodities.
