Swim Instructor

The Swim Instructor is responsible for instructing students on water safety and proper swim techniques based on thorough knowledge of the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Providing one-on-one swim instruction with students based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.
• Evaluating student progress and submitting daily reports.
• Interacting with parents/guardians on the activities and development of students' swim skills. Acting as a GSS "ambassador" to ensure parent satisfaction.
• Maintaining and ensuring proper storage of all pool equipment. Notifying management of maintenance, cleanliness and damage issues as needed.
• Promoting safety rules and regulations and following proper accident reporting procedures.
• Attending mandatory workshops and in-service training outside of regular working hours.
• Fulfilling other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the Employer.

Preferred qualifications include:

• 16+ years old.
• CPR/AED certification, must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment.
• Experience working as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor, camp counselor and/or childcare provider.

Work environment: Swim instructors spend the majority of their working time in the pool with students. While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity. Noise level is usually moderate. Compensation: $16.00 per hour.
