Title: System Engineer - Transmission & Substation
Location: Palmyra, MO 63461
Schedule: Fully onsite 4/10 schedule - Monday-Thursday 7am- 5:30pm
Salary: $125,000 - $135,000 (with some flexibility)

What You'll Be Doing:
As a System Engineer, you'll lead planning and design efforts for new and upgraded transmission and substation facilities, while serving as a key technical authority on NERC compliance. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing protection, control, and automation schemes for transmission systems and substations, and working with field crews on testing and commissioning.
- Conducting fault analysis and system studies to ensure protection schemes and reliability standards are met.
- Leading design and project management for substation construction and upgrades, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
- Providing advanced engineering support for installation, testing, and maintenance of 12 kV-345 kV substation equipment.
- Developing specifications, evaluating bids, and supporting procurement.
- Ensuring compliance with RUS standards, NEC/NESC, and other safety codes.
- Overseeing testing, inspection, and data-driven recommendations for substation equipment.
- Leading compliance efforts, preparing documentation for NERC audits, and staying ahead of evolving standards.
- Partnering with internal teams and external stakeholders to support system planning and operational excellence.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Missouri or Iowa, required.
- 5+ years of engineering experience in the electric utility industry (generation & transmission cooperative experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of 69 kV and 161 kV substation equipment, protective relaying, metering, SCADA integration, system protection coordination, and related testing/calculations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and tools such as AcSELerator and ASPEN.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
