Testing Required:
Hybrid Role: This role is hybrid, with an established schedule of in-person work required at an assigned work location. Any remote work is expected to be performed from an employee’s primary residence, unless allowed (or prohibited) through the Company’s remote work guidelines.
Emergency Response: Yes – Must be available to perform a primary assignment in support of DTE’s emergency response to storms or other events that impact service to our customers.
Job Summary
This is a Temporary Employee role at the entry level that will be responsible for tasks and projects across any of the enterprise’s business units within the Gas, Electric and LLC companies. This role will support the Corporate Communications team. May receive on-the-job training relevant to assigned department and business unit. Tasks and assignments work will focus on one or more of the following: Supports the development, coordination, and execution of internal and external communications for HR and enterprise initiatives, partnering with multiple business units to deliver clear, consistent messaging and maintain continuity across programs.
Key Accountabilities
Become oriented in the basics of the business unit and company
Communicate through basic presentational and report writing skills
Develop, revise and maintain Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, and PowerPoint presentations
Collaborate through basic problem-solving skills as they relate to the industry
Work with different team members and groupsWork safely and adhere to all safety programs
Support internal and external communications for multiple HR business units, including DEI/ERGs, CIPG, Organizational Effectiveness, Talent Acquisition, and Workforce Development
Draft, edit, and coordinate HR-related communications such as announcements, toolkits, talking points, presentations, and digital content
Assist with planning, tracking, and execution of communications deliverables across HR initiatives and programsCollaborate with HR partners, subject matter experts, and communications leadership to ensure consistency, clarity, and accuracy of messaging
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
HS Diploma or GED equivalent and a minimum of 6 months of experience related to Event Management and Corporate Communications
Other Qualifications
Preferred:
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
Experience in a utility or regulated industry
Other Requirements
Proficient communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient verbal, nonverbal, written, and presentation skills
Ability to organize work independently and to work in teams
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, primarily Excel and Word
Basic analytical and problem‑solving skills
Time management, prioritization, and organization skills
