Tier 1 Logistics Customer Service Representative

The Tier 1 Logistics Customer Service Representative ensures all customer requirements are met by coordinating shipments, scheduling pickups and deliveries, conducting inventory inquiries, and supporting daily order needs. The role also works with trucking partners to plan shipments and updates inventory in company and customer systems following depletion procedures. Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with co-workers and direct supervisor to receive instructions and coordinate activities
  • Manage communication processes, answering multi-line phone system and ensuring timely response of customer emails
  • Maintain a clean, work environment placing all items in an orderly manner
  • Operate within the Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Coordinate shipments to meet customer standards
  • Enter order information directly into the system accurately and on a timely basis
  • Notify/Communicate with customers with any issues with shipment or scheduling
  • Follow all standard operating and rules of thumb procedures for shipments and depletions of customer inventory
  • Consulting with customers about their shipping needs and making recommendations about how best to meet those needs
  • Provide assistance and follow up on any Advance Shipping Notification (ASN)
  • Collaborate with the warehouse team to create customer orders and fulfill customer requests
  • Prepare a Bill of Lading for all shipping customers for the type, quantity, and destination of products transported out of the warehouse
  • Utilize customer portals to provide comprehensive data on their shipping and operational information
  • Create customer orders for the warehouse team
  • Work with carriers to schedule appointments, communicate load status, etc.
  • Other duties may be assigned

Knowledge/Skill Requirements:

  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions
  • Possess above average communication skills
  • Basic math and counting skills
  • Be a self-starter, ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Must have aptitude to use and operate a computer including basic email functions and Excel
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multitask
  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Ability to multitask and handle crisis situations in a calm and effective manner.
  • Majority of the time spent at work will be in an office setting, sitting at a desk.
  • Sitting for long periods of time.
  • Minor lifting of office supplies, storage boxes up to 25lbs
  • Occasional climbing, crouching, kneeling.
  • Must be non-allergic to the extent of being present in the building throughout the workday.
