Transportation Driver/Appt. Scheduler Full-Time

Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: In addition to the requirements that are reflected in the employee's primary job description, the following document details additional expectations which relate to the safe transportation of patients, residents, members, and/or employees to and from the Service Location during approved activities to pre-determined destinations.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Operates the service location's vehicles in a safe manner when transporting patients, residents, members, and/or employees;

2. Assists patients, residents, members and/or employees when boarding and disembarking the vehicles;

3. Ascertains safe arrival to the destination; Absolutely no phone use while driving.

4. Maintains HIPPA compliance with all private resident care.

5. Maintains route and mileage logs in accordance with Company policy;

6. Monitors routine vehicle safety conditions including fuel and vital fluid levels in accordance with Company policy;

7. Reports any vehicle problems or maintenance needs to the Administrator immediately;

8. Makes certain that all vehicle passengers follow safety procedures, including fastening seat belts, prior to moving the van;

9. Interacts in a positive manner with patients, residents, members and families as a representative of the service location;

10. Evening and weekend transports as needed.

11. If licensed as a cna/cma must assist on the floor when not on appointments.

12. Performs other duties as requested.

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Current driver's license in good standing.

2. Must be CPR certified.

3. This position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak and understand the spoken English language to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our patients and visitors at the work site when responding to their medical and physical needs.

4. Must provide verification of TST (tuberculin skin test) as required by state law and in accordance with Company policy. TSTs will be administered at the work site if required.
