BACKGROUND: Since 1952, Beacon Group has been creating opportunities for people with disabilities across Southern Arizona, Phoenix and beyond. As a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, Beacon serves over 1,700 people with disabilities each year. Beacon provides job training and placement, supported and center-based employment, and day treatment programs to assist nearly two-thirds of working-age people with disabilities who do not have a job. POSITION INTRODUCTION: We seek an individual who communicates well, is detail-oriented and organized to provide travel assistance to government staff and provide administration and management of the JITC DTS help desk. This is a part-time position and is located at Ft. Huachuca, AZ. This position is part of the Ability One program which requires candidates to meet the Ability One definition of disabled. Specifically," a person who has a severe physical or mental impairment which so limits the person's functional capabilities that the individual is unable to engage in competitive employment over an extended period of time."
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan itineraries and travel accommodations using all major modes of transportation.
- Coordinate travel with inaccessible intermediate or destination points.
- Verify travel orders to insure costs, availability and convenience of different types of carriers to select most advantageous route and carrier.
- Notify traveler(s) of travel dates, baggage limits, medical and visa requirements.
- Coordinate travel that is varied, often not recurrent.
- Reroute and rearrange existing travel plans as situations change.
- Attend training as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Proven excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must have working experience with DTS and Joint Travel Regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to obtain/maintain a secret clearance.
- Meet Ability One definition of disabled.
- Superior organizational and administrative skills.
- 2-5 years of customer support experience.
