Description

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Safe operation of the truck and situational awareness, always.
  • All duties of the position, including the transporting of materials to plants and job sites in a safe manner via chip truck.
  • Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Safely load material.
  • Tarp load to protect products being hauled.
  • Clean and wash vehicle. Includes the spraying down of trailers when needed in designated area.
  • Practice good housekeeping on equipment and in the plant.
  • Recognize mechanical issues immediately as they develop with engine, hydraulic, and electrical systems and take action to shut down and secure the machine to avoid additional damage.

Job Experience:
Required skills, experience, and/or education:

  • Outstanding safety and attendance record
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Negative DOT drug screen
  • Class A CDL
  • 3 years' minimum experience
  • Demonstrate verbal and written communication skills
  • No more than two moving violations within the last 24 months

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to drive a standard manual transmission
  • Availability for the night shift
