Description
The Vehicle Service Technician (VST) is responsible for ensuring all ambulances and response vehicles are clean, stocked, safe, and in proper working condition to support daily operations. This role plays a critical part in maintaining readiness by performing routine inspections, basic maintenance, and equipment checks while ensuring compliance with company policies and state regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean, sanitize, and restock ambulances and response vehicles after each transport or shift
- Inspect vehicles and equipment to ensure operational readiness and report deficiencies
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks such as checking fluids, tire pressure, and fuel levels
- Transport vehicles to and from service facilities as needed
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and ensure proper storage
- Complete required documentation and inspection logs accurately and timely
- Follow all company policies, safety standards, and state EMS regulations
- Assist field crews and supervisors as needed to support operations

Certification/Licensure Requirements
Valid State Driver's License
High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
Physical Qualifications List
Ability to lift, carry, and balance 110 pounds
Ability to exert on a regular basis 50 pounds of force and at times up to 100 pounds.
Ability to bend and stoop, ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
Possess hand-eye-foot coordination, color recognition, close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, good manual dexterity
Required Qualifications
Emergency Medical Technician certification or demonstrated EMS knowledge
Proficient verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to comprehend and execute verbal and written instructions
Strong Interpersonal skills and a proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team
Ability to multi-task and work under time constraints
Driving Record in compliance with AmeriPro EMS policies
Insurable under AmeriPro EMS standards
Basic computer operational understanding
Working Environment
Due to the nature of EMS Care working conditions, employees may be exposed to inclement weather, potential hazardous conditions, psychological stressors, diseases and other illnesses. Frequent interruptions, work pressure, difficult personalities and irregularities in work schedule are expected. Employee is subject to continually changing deadlines, while performing the duties of this job. The employee will be occasionally required to attend meetings, some of which may take place outside of regular working hours.
