Verification Engineer II
New Bern, NC / Full-time
The Verification Engineer functions in the Labs, Approvals, and Verification Engineering Department by providing a technical resource for test plans, procedures, and equipment development used to validate cooking designs.
• Working closely with the laboratory for testing of appliances, parts and assemblies for function and performance • Collaborate with project team to generate test plans. • Define and write test procedures. • Responsible for maintaining labs in workable conditions, ordering supplies, etc, • Train others in testing principles and methods, and maintaining the integrity of tests. • Design and build test fixtures and special purpose equipment. • Define and test solutions to problems found during testing. • Communicate with outside sources of information and material. • Participate in new product/parts/vendor approval. • Verify effectiveness of implemented solution. • Create accelerated life test procedures for design verification. • Presenting and discussion of test results to find solutions to problems • Documentation, analysis and interpretation of test results and tasks • Project management as far as task related (deadlines, driving tasks, managing assigned budgets/timelines) • Ability to handle multiple projects with different scopes and requirements at the same time. • Develop and maintain timeline of projects and project related tasks in accordance with BSH PDP (Product Development Process) and deadlines • Identification of critical parts and processes, generation and analysis of tolerance studies • Performs work under minimal supervision
Additional Responsibilities: • Handles moderately complex to complex issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff • Design and Build custom automated test rigs, fixtures, and apparatus. • Select, Integrate, and program a variety of hardware components including sensors (temperature, pressure, optical), actuators (motors, servos, pneumatic/hydraulic cylinders), and data acquisition (DAQ) hardware. • Develop and debug control software to orchestrate complex test sequences, manage hardware, and log data. This will primary involve using platforms like LabVIEW, Python with hardware libraries, or PLC programming. • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Your profile
· Bachelor's degree (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering) – Required
· 3-5 Years of Experience (Product Development Experience) – Required
· 5-7 Years of Experience (Product Development Experience) – Preferred
Specific Knowledge • Intermediate knowledge of requirements engineering' processes and methodologies • Excellent knowledge of MSOffice, especially Excel and PowerPoint • Knowledge of FMEA, DFMA, DfR, risk management and other engineering tools. • Strong ability to organize, analyze and interpret data coming from experimental lab results • Strong ability to identify failure modes, root causes and propose solutions for problems identified by experimental lab results • Quick learner and self-starter, good analytical skills using the specific engineering tools. • Exhibits appropriate professional behavior including positive attitude, sense of urgency, independent judgment, teamwork, creative thinking and personal integrity to achieve department/corporate goals and objectives.
Additional Specific Knowledge: • Strong proficiency in at least one of the following for hardware control: LabVIEW, Python (with libraries like PyVISA, PySerial), or PLC programming. • Hands-on experience with selecting and integrating sensors, motors, and actuators into a functional system. • A "builder" mindset with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
