Warehouse Associate II
The Warehouse Associate II is responsible for efficiently and accurately handling all inbound and outbound materials, with a strong operational focus on FedEx and UPS carrier processes. This role ensures compliance with carrier requirements, real-time shipment tracking, precise documentation, and inventory integrity. The incumbent plays a critical role in maintaining dock operations, managing carrier interactions, and supporting daily, monthly, and end-of-period warehouse close activities.
Carrier & Shipping Operations:
- Serve as the primary operator for FedEx and UPS shipping terminals, including shipment creation, label generation, manifesting, and end-of-day close-out procedures.
- Ensure shipments comply with FedEx and UPS routing guides, service levels, weight limits, and packaging requirements.
- Prepare, review, and maintain all carrier documentation including bills of lading, shipping manifests, and tracking records.
- Coordinate trailer loading and carrier pickups to meet daily shipping deadlines.
- Accurately select routing and carrier when not specified, following customer and carrier guidelines.
- Monitor shipment status and resolve carrier-related discrepancies or issues as needed.
Inbound & Outbound Material Handling:
- Verify, identify, and inspect incoming and outgoing materials against purchase orders, shipping documents, and system records.
- Record and report shortages, damages, and discrepancies promptly.
- Determine inspection or testing requirements and maintain lot-traceable documentation.
- Assemble, pick, and stage orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and on-time dispatch.
- Count, weigh, and verify customer orders prior to shipment.
Inventory Control & Documentation:
- Enter inventory transactions accurately into the warehouse management or ERP system.
- Utilize barcode scanners and labeling systems to track inventory movement.
- Maintain FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory controls.
- Maintain organized and auditable shipping and receiving records.
Equipment & Warehouse Operations:
- Safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment to transport goods to workstations, storage areas, or docks.
- Select appropriate packaging, crates, or skids for standard and oversized materials.
- Support monthly warehouse close activities, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe dock and warehouse environment.
General Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate flexibility to work overtime or adjust schedules to meet business demands.
- Follow all safety, quality, and compliance standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support warehouse and distribution operations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating FedEx and UPS shipping systems, including end-of-day processing.
- Strong attention to detail with shipping documentation and inventory accuracy.
- Proficiency with computers, inventory systems, and barcode scanning technology.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping documents, routing guides, and work instructions.
- Basic math, reading, and communication skills.
- Forklift operation experience (certification preferred or required by company policy).
